This Year at Chambers

Every year, participation in the research carried out by Chambers in the legal world continues to grow.

We are deeply grateful for the law firms' continued commitment to participating in our research, as well as for the active collaboration of their clients. Year after year, we continue to increase the number of submissions and rankings thanks to the invaluable support of their referees.

Last year, we received more than 60,500 submissions from law firms in the more than 200 jurisdictions we cover at Chambers. In addition, members of the research department conducted a total of 89,000 interviews and received more than 250,000 completed surveys.

This Year in Latin America

For our 2026 guide, we have received 4,562 submissions, which represents an increase of 8% compared to the previous year. The large number of submissions we have received, the continuous communication with referees, and the availability of the lawyers in the firms that participated in our interviews, have allowed us to register more than 31,000 interactions with the legal market.

As far as rankings are concerned, our Chambers Latin America 2026 guide includes 806 law firms, which come from the 19 jurisdictions we cover, that is, from all Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America, including Cuba and Puerto Rico; a regional section called Central America-wide and an international section called International Counsel.

This number of 806 firms represents an increase of 8% over the previous year, reflecting greater market coverage and wider regional penetration by Chambers.

The number of lawyers included in our Latin America guide has also reached an all-time high of 4,988 people, representing an increase of more than 7% compared to last year's guide.

Diversity in Latin America

The presence of women in firms has continued to improve globally.

This year, only Mexico and Chile are below 20% of ranked lawyers being women. The other countries have now reached a ratio of at
least 20%.

Although Chile and Mexico show the greatest opportunity for progress in diversity, equity, and inclusion, there are encouraging signs when looking at specific practice areas.

For example, Chile has achieved gender parity in the Life Sciences and Data Protection rankings.

In Mexico, women lawyers account for:  43% of the rankings in Data Protection, and  27% across Intellectual Property, Labour & Employment, and Dispute Resolution: Arbitration.
